Welcome to magicsmysteryvoices.com
If you live in or around London then you've probably heard of the Magic Mystery Voice competition. It's a phone-in quiz that is played on the radio and has kept Londoners guessing for months and months at a time. It's quite simple, really. All you have to do is identify the three celebrity voices that are saying the name of the radio station, magic 105.4. One says "magic", the next says "one-oh-five" and another says "point four". The game is played every hour, just after the news and weather, between 7am and 6pm weekdays. Every time a listener gets the names wrong another £100 is added to the jackpot prize. The biggest winner so far walked away with £110,600.00 (that's over $200,000 USD and over a quarter of a million AUD) which has got to make it one of the largest prizes ever to be given away by a radio station!
The most recent game commenced 17th September 2007. The jackpot started at £100 although there was an additional £10,000 in the kitty waiting to be won. £5,000 was won by Kate Player of Reigate on Friday, 7th September for guessing one name correctly. Another £5,000 was won by Debbie Hopkins of Erith on Monday, 10th December for getting two out of three. The jackpot of £110,700 went to Russell from Reading who correctly identified all three voices on Friday, 1st February.
